Born on Sunday, April 19, 1942, in Morris Chapel, TN  to the union of the late Barley and Alberta Brashers.. Bessie was a proud graduate of Dunbar High School and later furthered her education at a business college in Nashville, Tennessee. Bessie Lee Anderson, aged 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Bessie’s life was a testament to her strength and love. She married Joe Anderson on Saturday, September 20, 1967 and was a devoted mother to her five children. Bessie’s unwavering faith led her to confess her love for Christ early in life. She served Him diligently as a church usher, choir member, and soloist. Her passion for singing resonated within the walls of her church and the hearts of the Tennessee River Missionary Baptist District Association and of all who heard her.

Bessie was also preceded in death by:  her husband, Joe Anderson; a granddaughter and a great-grandson; two sisters, Mae Kendricks and Ludean Ayers; who now welcome her with open arms.

Bessie leaves behind a legacy of love and music. She leaves to cherish her memory:  four daughters, Nina Brown, Pamela Hardison, Angel Sparks, and Misty Anderson; one son, Joe Anderson, Jr.; two sisters, Martha Derrick and Virginia Brashers; a brother, James Brashers; twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Bessie’s life was a melody of devotion, faith, and family. Her song may have ended, but her harmony lingers on in the memories of those she loved.
