Obituary

Corrie J. Johnson was born on Saturday, December 29, 1973 becoming the oldest child of Randal and Diane Johnson.  At a young age Corrie followed in his father's footsteps naturally picked up a basketball, but a the age of eleven years old he was in an accident and was told he would never play basketball again.  As a senior at Hardin County High School he broke school and state  basketball scoring records including becoming the 1993 Gill Gideon TSSAA Class AAA Co-Mr. Basketball.  Corrie continued his basketball career at the college level playing at ETSU for two years and TSU for one year.  Even though he had his ups and downs in life, he had been raised in church and was a respectful and God fearing young man.

He was preceded in death by:  his wife, Michele Devers Johnson; his father, Randal Johnson; a step daughter, Koty Devers; his grandparents, four uncles, two aunts, and three first cousins.

Corrie leaves to cherish his loving memory:  his loving mother, Patricia Diane Johnson; three daughters, Courtney Johnson (Josten Finley), Torri Jolly, and Nikki Devers; one son, C.J. Burton; a brother, Terrance Johnson; one sister, Desiree Johnson; five nephews, one niece, four aunts, three uncles, Godfather, Darnell Lowery; several cousins who grew up like brothers and sisters; a special friend, Teresa P.; coach Anthony Gilchrist, whom he loved like a father; and a host of friends and associates who will miss him dearly.
