IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eddie Lewis
Miller
November 12, 1943 – October 10, 2024
Eddie was born on November 12, 1943 in Ramer, TN, to now deceased parents, Joe and Ida Mae Miller. He was preceded in death, by his son, Tracy Miller, four of his siblings, Joe E., J.W., Aline, and James, and his nephew, Billy. Eddie “Son” Miller, 80 years of age, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at his residence in Ramer, TN.
Eddie committed his life to Christ in the Spring of 1972, and was a faithful servant until his health prevented him from doing so. Over the years, he was a member of Mt. Zion Church and later Wade’s Chapel. He served in various capacities in the church, from choir member to Sunday school teacher to landscape maintenance service, and caretaker of Ramer cemetery. Hard work was instilled in him from an early age, and he did not believe in having “idle” hands. He relied daily on his faith and shared the good word anytime of day, often saying, “It’s in God’s hands; we all have to go someday.”
For several years, Eddie served as a Mason in Crescent Lodge #70. Prior to retirement, Eddie worked for the railroad company, drove sanitation trucks, hauled freight across the country in eighteen wheeler trucks, and assisted on various construction projects. He was truly a man of many trades and explored much of the United States.
Many a day, you could find him, playing checkers with longtime friend, Arbie D., on the phone for a quick call with Ms. Shirley Trice, or cutting grass with his friend and prayer buddy, Mr. Kerry Prather. Eddie also spent time working on various house projects, visiting with his devoted sister, Easter, and her family, Arthur “Sonny” Wyke and nephews, Kevin and Quincy Wyke or talking on the phone with one of his sisters.
From his two previous marriages, four children were born, Priscilla and Tracy (Linda), Courtney and Sandra (Freddie Jean).
Eddie leaves to cherish his memory: three daughters, Priscilla, Courtney (Jerel), and Sandra; six siblings, Martha, Joyce, Easter (Arthur), Edward Charles (Barbara), Florine, and Madgie; fifteen grandchildren, Phylicia, Tomara, Ta`Shawnda, Zavier, Raven, Paula, Ben, Seth, Angel, Tracy “Deuce” Lamar II, Traaynna, Tramar, Jaden, Noah, and Janelle; ten great grandchildren, Ni’Lyah, NaZyia, Jaiia, Zaven, Isaiah G., Za`riah, Styles, Mareguis, Kyle, Isaiah; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
We would like to thank you for all the expressions of sympathy expressed during our time of bereavement. We would like to give a special thanks to those who visited, called, or said a prayer for Daddy’ during his time of declining health. Our gratitude cannot be expressed with mere words; yet we thank-you and will keep you ever in our hearts and prayers. May God bless and keep you.
