James David Reed Sr., 61, of McNairy County, Tennessee, passed away on December 24, 2025, at Cypress Grove Post Acute in Jackson, Tennessee. Born in Bakersfield, California, on June 11, 1964, to Joyce Marie Manly Vales and William David Reed, James dedicated over twenty years to being a truck driver for various employers in the McNairy County area. He was a long-time member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. James found joy in spending time with his family, as well as hiking, riding motorcycles, and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his father, William David Reed; his mother, Joyce Marie Vales; his stepfather, Bill Vales; and six siblings.

James is survived by his wife, Mary Kaye Reed; sons, JJ Reed and Brandon Reed; daughters, Jessica Norwood and April Stewart; stepdaughter, Nikki Jumper; sisters, Jen Vales, Yvonne Vales, Judy Bean, and Wanda Manly; four granddaughters; and three grandsons.
