Laura Irene Spencer Walker was born Thursday, May 22, 1947 to the late Vance and Lillie Spencer. She departed this life on Monday, April 03, 2023 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital at the age of 75.

Irene attended McNairy County Schools. After completing school she began to work at Brown Shoe Company and then Aqua Glass from which she retired due to health issues.

Irene was married to the late Arron G. Walker, they were married for many years. She attended Cypress Creek Church in Selmer, TN.

Irene is survived by:  one sister, Betty (David) Croom of Chattanooga, TN; one niece, Joy Spencer of Selmer, TN; a sister in law, Annie Spencer; two nephews, Mario Baker and Kerry (Wanda) Shelton; two God daughters, Pamela Anthony of Jackson, TN and Shatarcha (Charles) Woods of Selmer, TN; and a host of cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was also preceded in death by:  four brothers, Darrell Gene Spencer, John Edward Spencer, Roger Lynn Spencer, and John Flake Spencer; a sister in law, Sammie Lee Spencer; and one niece, Tam Hudson.
