Obituary

Mrs. Leler Mae Kirksey was born Sunday, December 09, 1928 to the late Leroy and Clara Mae Meeks Robinson in Purdy, TN. She departed this life on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.
Leler grew up and attended school in the Purdy community. She was married to the late Cortez Kirksey of Selmer, TN. During her life she worked as a seamstress in the local sewing factories. She was the eldest of twelve siblings and loved her family dearly. She enjoyed sewing quilts for her family and sitting on the front porch watching the traffic pass. Leler attended Greater Evangelical ministries and  was a praying woman who loved God.
She was preceded in death by: a son, Kevin Robinson; six brothers, Robert D. Robinson, Samuel Paul Robinson, Sr., Glen Thomas Robinson, Corkey Robinson, Alton 'Honeyboy' Robinson, and Anthony 'Skeet' Robinson; three sisters, Dorothy Hurst, Nellie Jean Goodlow, and Nillah Jean McClinton.
Leler leaves to cherish her memory:  three sons, Allen W. 'Rocky' (Grace)  Kirksey, Randy (Denise) Kirksey, and Bedford Keith (Ruby) 'Hinkie' Robinson; a daughter, Clara S. 'Tuffy' Walker; one sister, Betty Joyce (James) McTizic; one brother, Benny E. Robinson; two sisters in law, Jewell Robinson and Daisy Bell Robinson; sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

The repass will be at the Purdy Community center immediately following the graveside service and will be served togo.
