Marvin Darnel Roberts was born Thursday, February 18, 1960 the eldest son of the late Bobby Lee and Willie Mable(Robinson)Roberts. Marvin departed this life on Monday, July 13, 2020 in Selmer, TN.
*He grew up in McNairy County and attended the old McNairy County High School before entering McNairy Central High School. After graduating he attended Middle Tennessee State University for two years, then decided to join the United States Marine Corp. Marvin served his country for four years from December 1982 to 1986.
*Marvin was also preceded in death by:  three uncles, Pius Robinson, Johnny Stricklin, and Wendell Robinson; an aunt, Lillian Ruth Robinson; grandparents, Osborn Roberts and Clara Mae Young, and (maternal) Will Avery, Sam Robinson, and Grace Stricklin Robinson.
*Marvin leaves to cherish his memory:  a son, Maurice Darnel Thompson of Atlanta, GA; his twin, Melvin Dewayne(Mayrine) Roberts of Bellflower, CA; two sisters, Beverly Rosetta Roberts of Memphis, TN and Zina Cassietta(Jack) Porter of Savannah, TN; three aunts, Minnie Cherry of Savannah, TN, Louise Robinson of Selmer, TN, and his mother figure Melinda Sanders of Selmer, TN; two uncles, James Robinson of Chicago, IL and Larry Robinson of Savannah, TN; three nephews, Dewayne Roberts of Jacksonville, FL, Steven Roberts of Phoenix, AZ, and Darrius Porter of Lake City, CA; four nieces, Samone Porter of Savannah, TN, Meagan and Camry Richardson of Memphis, TN, and Syretta Roberts of Bellflower, CA; four great nephews; three great nieces; and a host of cousins, friends, and a special friend, who always watched out for him, C.J. Sanders of Selmer, TN.
