Mrs. Minnie Jo Robinson Cherry was born on Thursday, July 22, 1948 to Sam and Grace Stricklin Robinson. She departed this life at her home on Monday, January 03, 2022.
Ms. Minnie, as she was commonly known, attended the old McNairy County High School. She worked for 911 Communication in both McNairy and Hardin Counties. She also was a crossing guard for the Hardin County School System. All the children loved speaking to Ms. Minnie everyday. She knew them all by name and treated each one as her own and made sure they walked the line.
Minnie Jo was preceded in death by: her parents, Sam and Grace Robinson; her grandparents, Shed and Ellie Chambers Stricklin and Minnie Westbrooks; one son, Eric Dion Cherry; and one grandson, Brelyn Cherry; three brothers, Pius Robinson, Johnny Stricklin, and Wendell Robinson; two sisters, Lillian Ruth Robinson and Mabel Robinson Roberts; two nephews, Zach Welch and Marvin Roberts; her ex-husband and father of her children, Lonnie Cherry.
She leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Terrence Elbert and Gregory O'Neal Cherry both of Savannah, TN and Jason Elliot Cherry of Atlanta, GA; eight grandsons, Keegan Callier, Detrick Murphy, Parish Cherry, Justin (Kelsey) Cherry, Aiden Replogle, Tauriss Sanders, Keonni Robinson and Xavier Murphy; one granddaughter, Natasha Cherry(Bobby Fields) of Jackson, TN; one great grandson, Kyng Masden; two sisters, Louise Robinson and Melinda Sanders both of Selmer, TN; two brothers, James Robinson of Chicago, IL and Larry Robinson of Savannah, TN; two special friends, Janice Bumpus of Savannah, TN and Shirley Stackens of Selmer, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will miss her dearly.
