Terrence Elbert Cherry was born August 28, 1969, to the late Lonnie and Minnie Jo Cherry. He received his education in the McNairy County school system and graduated from McNairy Central High School in May 1987. He enlisted in the US Navy in November 1989. During his deployment he was deployed in Desrt Storm. Terrence served his country in active duty until September 1993 and placed in Naval reserve until December 1997. During his tenure he received the following: Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southeast Asia Service Medal with a Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
Once released, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he worked for Georgia Chiropractic Association until he became fell ill. He then moved back to Savannah, Tennessee with his mother. She and his brother cared for him until she went home with the Lord. He then moved to Selmer, Tennessee so his care could be supervised by his sister. In July 2024 his health began to decline, and he was admitted to AHC Savannah where he departed this life on November 25, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his father Lonnie Cherry, his mother Minnie Cherry, his brother Eric Cherry, his nephews Brelyn Cherry and Zach Welch. He leaves to mourn, his son Parish Terrence Cherry, his brother Gregory and Jason Cherry, his sister Vanessa(Dwayne) McDaniel, his aunt Melinda Sanders, his nieces Natasha Cherry and Mahlon Welch, his nephews Keegan Collier, Justice Cherry(Kelsey), Detrick Murphy, Aiden Replogle, Kyng Masdon, two special friends Johnny Pierce and Jerrith Barnette, as well as a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
