Travis Carnell Murphy was born on Wednesday, July 01, 1953 in Purdy, TN to the late Dorothy Murphy and Wallace Hurst, Jr. but was raised in Selmer, TN by Dorothy and Prentis Hudson. After graduating from High School, he joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. While stationed there he married and had his first born, Sascha Travis Murphy.  after returning to the states, he married three times and during these unions he had two more children, Colisha and Tory. Travis also had three step children, Denzil, Jennifer (Otis), and Terrance.

On Monday, November 03, 2025 Travis said goodbye to this old world. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Roberson; stepfathers, Prentis Hudson and Lincoln Roberson; two brothers, Claudell Murphy and Gaylord Burkett; one sister, Ruth Ann Murphy.

Left to cherish his loving memory:  his wife, Geraldine; his children, Sascha, Colisha, and Tory; his step children, Denzil, Jennifer, and Terrance; three sisters, Sharon, Mae, and Pamela Hudson; a special niece, Rochelle (Pierre) Womble; a special cousin, Clifton (Tamela) Sain; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
