Obituary

Mrs. Wardine Stackens Sebree was born on Friday, March 07, 1958 to the late Alvin and Beulah Mae Fulton Stackens.  She departed this life on Friday, January 24, 2020 in her home after a short battle with cancer.*
*Duney grew up in Purdy. TN and graduated from Adamsville High School.  She was married on Saturday, February 10, 1990 to the late James Robert Sebree, Jr.  She worked for Aqua Glass in Adamsville, TN for seventeen years. She moved to Houston, TX and worked for Lubby's restaurant for fifteen years. She then moved back to Purdy, TN and had been working at the McNairy Health and Rehabilitation Center for the past six years.  Wardine professed a hope in Christ and was baptized on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the New Jerusalem Christian Center. She loved doing word puzzles, fishing and tending to her plants.  Her house was the spot, you could hang out and get a good meal.  If you came to Duney's, she was making sure you were fed, even when she did not have the strength to cook, she would call and tell everybody what to bring cause she did not want people to come to her house and not be able to eat.
*She was also preceded in death by:  a sister, Annie Mae Stackens Jones; and three brothers, James, Andrew, and Michael Stackens.
*Wardine leaves to cherish her memories: two sisters, Sherry Surratt (Anthony) of Purdy, TN and Priscillia Degreffreed (Jerry) of Mason, TN; a brother, O.B. Stackens (Tina) of Adamsville, TN; three stepdaughters, Sirena Norman (Chris) of Houston, TX, Tawanna Bell of Madisonville, KY, and Elisha Sebree (Lamont) of Danville, VA.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
*She also leaves her beloved four-legged children behind to cherish her memory. Five dogs, Copper, Pimp, Patches, Jimma, and Lady; four cats, Petey, Gizmo, Lil Bit, and White Feet. Duney would feed her four-legged children before she would eat. They were her family also and she loved them until she took her last breath. We are sending our love to them as they grieve their loss.
