Mrs. Jo Ann Hendon Brewer was born to Clemon and Bertha Gann Hendon in Cerro Gordo Tenn. in Hardin Co. on Wednesday, 11 August, 1937. She was 4th born of five children and is survived by her son Dennis S. Brewer and his wife Alison June Muir Brewer of Royal Wootton Bassett England, two brothers Drexel and Wayne Hendon of Memphis Tenn. and one sister Wanda Kaye Kirkman of Crump Tenn.
Jo Ann attended schools in Hardin County graduating from Central High in 1958. She married Elver Cazmo Brewer during 1957 and moved to Aurora Illinois 1961. She worked at various factories throughout her working life. Jo Ann retired at the age of 62 and after a year of staying at home reentered the workforce as a Walmart greater where she remained until her 80th year. She moved back to Crump after the passing of her husband of 64 years and made many good friends in her new home town attending South Shiloh Full Gospel Church pastored by Brother James Newcomb. She was a friend to all and loved to sing and regale friends and family with stories of her many life experiences and would not hesitate to lend a helping hand when needed.
Jo Ann departed this life on Sunday the 13th of November 2022 at the Hardin Medical Health & Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, husband and one brother, Oather also of Memphis.
A grave side service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday the 25th of November 2022 at Mars Hill Cemetery. She did not want a visitation service. Jo Ann leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other relatives who will miss her wonderful loving nature and her infectious sense of humor.
