Melecia Wyvette Cherry was born on Sunday, November 22, 1987 in Selmer, TN to Lisa Cherry and the late William Lee Sain, Jr. She departed this life on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Melecia graduated from Thornwood High School and attended Simeon Career Academy in Calumet City, IL. She also attended Cosmetology School in Selmer, TN. Melecia also worked in the restaurant industry in Jackson, TN. She was a fun and loving person with an outstanding personality. Her radiant smile spoke volumes to everyone she encountered.
Melecia was also preceded in death by: her grandfathers, Clark Cherry, Sr. and William Lee Sain, Sr.; her great grandmother, Dora A. Nichols; her great grandfather, Albert Nichols; and three great uncles, Elmer Lee, Joe Nathan and Billy Ray Nichols.
Melecia leaves to cherish her precious memory: two children, Demaijae Williams and Dorijah Cherry of Jackson, TN; her mother, Lisa Cherry of Jackson, TN; three brothers, Keyshawn and Junius Dirkans of Jackson, TN, and LaQuinn Sain of Bolivar, TN; two sisters, Tynesha Dirkans and Kymandria (Kacy) Cherry-Rose of Jackson, TN; two grandmothers, Delores Westbrook(Jerry) and Lurlene Sain; two aunts, Michelle (Anthony) Coleman of Simpsonville, SC and Mary Virginia Sain of Selmer, TN; two uncles, Clark Cherry, Jr. and Lavon (Wanda) Woods of Chicago, IL; one nephew, Jacarri Lavell; one niece, Kymani Rose of Jackson, TN; a godmother, Pam Walker-Anthony; two great uncles, Thomas (Mildred) Nichols of Adamsville, TN and Gary (Melanie) Nichols of Selmer, TN; a great aunt, Madine Nichols of Selmer, TN; and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
